1 fathom is a unit of length equal to six feet (1.829 metres), used to measure depths of water. These sets of images were inspired by the mysteries of the deep depths of the oceans. One of these creatures includes the giant squid, which is estimated to grow to a maximum size of 13m for females and 10m for males. This is around the same size as a shipping container or an olympic swimming pool!
